About the RolePermanent, part‐time Staff Specialist (up to 40 hours/week) in the Genetic Pathology Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on‐call specialty services in Genetic Pathology to Sydney Children's Hospital Network, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.Provide full‐time on‐site medical supervision according to NPAAC requirements to laboratories performing genetic testing at the hospital.Provide clinical input of all laboratory services within the Western Sydney Genetics Program, including Sydney Genome Diagnostics and statewide services: NSW Newborn Screening Programme and NSW Biochemical Genetics Service.Ensure a high standard of professional performance and support an academic environment promoting research and development.Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian.QualificationsDemonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in Genetic Pathology,



including medical genomics.Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Genetic Pathology, or equivalent overseas trained specialist pathway.Experience working across multiple laboratory sites.Commitment to research, medical education and staff training.Strong teamwork, communication, interpersonal skills and adaptability to multidisciplinary environment.Commitment to clinical quality management and continuous improvement, and knowledge of NPAAC Standards and NATA accreditation processes.Availability to participate in an on‐call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time.Equality and AccessSCHN is an Equal Prospect Employer that values diversity.
