Head Medical is seeking an Obstetrics & Gynaecology doctor for a busy teaching hospital located in Launceston, Tasmania's second largest hospital with a reputation for training and team-oriented care.
This position is suited to doctors processing a minimum of 24 months Obstetrics & Gynaecology experience post foundation training.
Work within a Level 5 unit managing ~**** births per year
Exposure to a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological practice
Structured training within an accredited unit
Supportive team environment with strong consultant and midwifery collaboration
Relocation Support
Salary: AUD $134,930 – $189,005 (commensurate with experience)
12-month contract commencing February ****
The Role
Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania's second largest hospital and a key teaching site.
The Women's & Children's Service offers strong collaboration between obstetrics, gynaecology and midwifery teams, a neonatal unit providing care from 32 weeks gestation and comprehensive obstetrics and gynaecology services.
You will contribute to the day-to-day management of Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients, working under the guidance and support of experienced consultants within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of clinical activity, including:
Management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies
Participation in gynaecological surgery, including:




Laparoscopic procedures (up to Level 6)
Hysteroscopy
Urogynaecology (generalist level)
Open and vaginal surgery
Inpatient and postoperative care
Supervision and teaching of doctors in training and students
Participation in on-call and shift-based rota
Requirements
Eligible for registration with AHPRA via the Competent Authority pathway
Minimum of 24 months experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
