The Role:
You will independently manage a diverse and complex family law practice, handling matters from initial client conference through to settlement or final hearing.
Your work will include:
Parenting disputes
Property settlements
Financial agreements
Child support matters
Relocation and recovery order applications
Divorce and de facto relationship matters
Your responsibilities will include:




Managing files from commencement through to final resolution
Drafting and settling Court documents, including Initiating Applications, Responses, Affidavits, Financial Statements, Case Outlines and written submissions
Appearing as solicitor advocate in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia at procedural, interim and directions hearings, as well as mediations
Briefing and instructing Counsel in complex litigation
Advising clients on litigation strategy, commercial outcomes and risk management
Negotiating settlements and representing clients at mediations and dispute resolution conferences
Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, graduates and paralegals
Assisting with business development through networking, referrals and professional presentations
To be successful, you will have:
Admission as a Solicitor in New South Wales
5–7 years' post-admission experience practising predominantly in Family Law
Demonstrated experience managing complex parenting and property matters
Strong advocacy, negotiation and courtroom skills
Excellent drafting and written communication abilities
