Tamworth Regional Council is seeking an experienced and people-focused
Coordinator, Employee Health & Wellbeing
to lead the delivery of contemporary employee health, wellbeing and injury management services across our diverse workforce.
This is an influential role within our People & Culture team, providing specialist advice and coordinating proactive initiatives that support our employees to remain healthy, safe and engaged at work.
Leading a small team of health and wellbeing professionals, the
Coordinator, Employee Health & Wellbeing
will coordinate Council's approach to:
Workers compensation, injury management and return-to-work programs
Complex workplace and non-work-related injury and illness matters
Employee wellbeing, mental health and early-intervention initiatives
Psychosocial hazard identification and risk management
Fitness-for-work, health monitoring and drug and alcohol programs
Employee Assistance Program services and critical incident responses
Analysis and reporting of health, injury, wellbeing and claims trends
You will work closely with employees, leaders, insurers, medical practitioners and other stakeholders to achieve practical, sustainable outcomes. You will also help strengthen a culture in which employee wellbeing is actively supported and embedded into everyday work practices.
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced health, wellbeing or injury management professional who combines strong technical knowledge with sound judgement, empathy and the confidence to manage complex and sensitive matters.
If you are passionate about improving workplace health and wellbeing and can balance compassionate support with strong governance and professional expertise, we would love to hear from you.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
Relevant tertiary qualifications in work health and safety, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, allied health, human resources or a related discipline
Drivers Licence
Working With Children's Check (WWCC)
SIRA-accredited return-to-work coordination training,



or the ability to meet the position's accreditation requirements
Demonstrated experience in workers compensation case management, injury management and work health and safety legislation
Experience developing and implementing holistic employee wellbeing programs
Experience in psychosocial risk management, trauma-informed practice, critical incident response, fitness-for-work programs or clinical and allied health practice will be highly regarded.
