We are looking for a skilled and motivated HR professional to join the National Archives of Australia as a Senior HR Advisor, Wellbeing and Employee Relations.
The Senior HR Advisor, Wellbeing and Employee Relations supports the delivery of employee wellbeing, rehabilitation, performance management and employee relations services across the National Archives. Working closely with the Assistant Director, Wellbeing and Employee Relations, you will provide trusted advice to managers and employees, manage a range of complex workplace matters, and contribute to the development of contemporary HR policies, programs and initiatives that support a positive, safe and high-performing workplace.
The role is responsible for coordinating the National Archives' Performance Management Program, including supporting managers and employees throughout the performance management cycle. You will also manage a range of wellbeing, rehabilitation and employee relations matters, including rehabilitation case management, performance management, workplace grievances, dispute resolution, review of actions and Code of Conduct matters. In addition, you will contribute to executive reporting, committee support, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen People and Culture service delivery.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience providing practical, solutions-focused HR advice across employee relations, performance management, rehabilitation and workplace wellbeing. You will be confident managing sensitive and complex matters, building productive relationships with stakeholders, and balancing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. Solid communication skills, sound judgement and a customer-focused approach are essential.
A sound understanding of the Australian Public Service employment framework, including the Public Service Act ****, Fair Work Act ****, Safety,



Rehabilitation and Compensation Act ****, and Work Health and Safety Act ****, together with experience in rehabilitation and workplace wellbeing, will be highly regarded.
The key duties of the position include:
Under limited direction the main duties of the role are to:
Support the management of wellbeing and employee relation cases including rehabilitation, performance management, dispute resolution, review of actions and grievance and code of conduct investigations.
Provide advice and support to managers and employees on National Archives Performance Management Policy.
Coordinate and manage the implementation of the Performance Management Program, providing ongoing support and guidance to manager and employees regarding the performance management cycle and completion of Individual Work Plans (IWP).
Provide reports to Senior Management of IWPs for their branches.
Deliver regular corporate information sessions on the performance cycle.
Manage the implementation of the SES Performance Leadership Framework.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives, policy and process improvements.
Assist with drafting and developing executive briefs, committee papers and Questions on Notice.
Provide secretariat support to the National Archives Workplace Relations Committee. Develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Identify and deliver developments and innovations to enhance service delivery and the customer experience.
Take responsibility of a self-managed workload by meeting deadlines,



making decisions within parameters and escalating complex issues as necessary.
Apply the principles of APS Values, Code of Conduct, workplace diversity, work health and safety and participative management within a work and team environment.
Promote and apply the National Archives' Vision, Mission and Commitments as expressed in Strategy **** and Our Values.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the role you must be an Australian citizen. If you are selected, you will be required to successfully undergo a police record check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a Baseline clearance level.
Notes
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work on site at our Parkes office. Requests for flexible working arrangements can be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
