The Opportunity As a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, you will play a key role in delivering specialist women's healthcare services across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
You will work alongside experienced medical, nursing, midwifery, and allied health teams to provide safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care while supporting the ongoing growth of the service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services across inpatient, outpatient, antenatal,



and procedural settingsManage both routine and complex obstetric and gynaecological presentationsDeliver high-quality patient-centred care in accordance with best-practice clinical standardsParticipate in consultant on-call and ward service rostersDevelop and implement treatment plans that support continuity of care and strong communication with community healthcare providersSupervise and mentor junior medical staff, registrars, medical students, and multidisciplinary learnersParticipate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiativesContribute to service planning, policy development, and future service expansionSupport education, teaching, and professional development activities across the organisation

About You To Be Successful, You Will Possess
MBBS or equivalent medical qualificationFellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent recognised specialist qualificationSpecialist Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRADemonstrated expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Consultant levelCommitment to patient-centred, evidence-based careStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teamsExperience supervising and mentoring junior medical staffCommitment to quality improvement, clinical governance, and continuous professional development
International Medical Graduates assessed as substantially comparable or eligible for specialist registration pathways are encouraged to apply.
