Quality Assurance Officer

Principal Objective:

- The role is responsible for daily Quality Control functions within QA department and supporting Quality Assurance functions in a customer focused, effective cost-effective manner.
- Raw materials positive release to meet Quality management system requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Routine line checks across both shifts to maintain product compliance and GMP standards.
- 100% verification of assembled MCB batches prior to blending.
- Daily positive release of raw materials including testing, checking Certificates of Analysis, and recording results.
- Testing and positive release of incoming goods (ingredients & packaging) to ensure they meet specification.
- Finished goods testing (over 1000 batches per month) to maintain compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Routine blenders checking to ensure food safety and allergens control.
- Customer sample preparation, including increased sample frequency.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding raw material non-compliances.
- Conduct Housekeeping, Quality, and HSE audits in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Assist with daily QC tasks including testing, sample preparation, and labelling.
- Develop SOPs for raw material testing where required.
- Assist with the creation of product and raw material labels.
- Additional EH&S; responsibilities including audits,



reporting, incident support and compliance-driven tasks aligned with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA, HSE, and production performance.

Skills & Experience Required:

- Formal qualifications in Food Science, Chemistry or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience in chemical analysis, QC testing, or process control monitoring.
- Knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety, and Quality Management Systems.
- Qualification in Internal Auditing is desirable.
- Understanding of Quality, Health & Safety (HSE) and safe working practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication and basic arithmetic skills.
- Computer literacy for data entry, reporting and processing.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload and meet deadlines.
