The Opportunity

Our Parks Operations, Open Space and Cemeteries department are seeking a full-time Parks Works Supervisor based at our Tea Gardens Depot, with regular site visits to Bulahdelah and Stroud. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll lead and support a team of 9 direct reports, working together to maintain and present parks, open spaces, sports fields, gardens, cemeteries and other valued community spaces.

We're looking for a community-focused Supervisor who leads by example and enjoys developing and supporting people. Drawing on your experience in parks, horticulture or turf management, you'll coach and guide your team, support and coordinate volunteers, oversee maintenance activities and minor projects, and promote a positive and safe working environment. You'll build strong relationships with your team, volunteers and the community to help deliver welcoming, well-maintained spaces for everyone to enjoy.

A Trade Certificate in Parks, Horticulture, or Turf Management, along with demonstrated leadership experience in park operations and open space maintenance is essential.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $89,402 - $102,813 p.a. plus superannuation(negotiable based on skills and experience).

A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.

Location: This position will be based at our Tea Gardens Depot at 5 Wanya Road, Tea Gardens, with regular travel to our Bulahdelah and Stroud Depots.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
