Sewer Surgeon is a well-established plumbing and roofing company based in Strathfield South, NSW. We specialise in drainage, blocked drains, CCTV inspections, high-pressure water jetting, pipe relining and complex sewer repairs.
We are expanding and looking for a motivated mature-age first-year plumbing apprentice who wants to build a long-term career in the drainage and pipe rehabilitation industry.
About the Role
This is a full time apprenticeship offering hands-on training across a wide range of specialised drainage services.
You will work alongside experienced plumbers and learn how to:
- Diagnose and clear blocked sewer and stormwater drains
- Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment
- Conduct CCTV drain inspections
- Locate damaged, collapsed and root-affected pipework
- Assist with trenchless pipe relining installations
- Carry out sewer and stormwater repairs
- Assist with excavation, groundwork and drainage installations
- Use specialised robotic cutting and pipe rehabilitation equipment
- Maintain vehicles, tools and drainage machinery
- Complete job documentation and communicate professionally with customers
This position will involve physical work, working outdoors and occasionally working in confined or difficult-access areas.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Is eligible to undertake a first-year plumbing apprenticeship
- Is genuinely interested in drainage, sewer repairs and pipe relining
- Is mature, reliable and ready to commit to a long-term career
- Has a strong work ethic and is comfortable performing physical work
- Is willing to learn, follow instructions and take responsibility
- Can work well as part of a team
- Has good communication and customer service skills
- Holds a valid manual NSW driver licence
- Has reliable transport to and from our Strathfield South premises
- Is available for occasional overtime and emergency drainage work
