AI Academy Lead to establish and lead a new enterprise AI capability function , driving workforce transformation and AI adoption across one of Australia's largest organisations.

Location: Sydney (Hybrid)

Package: $260,000 – $280,000 Total Package (Inclusive of Super)

This is a rare opportunity to build an enterprise AI Academy from the ground up. You'll define the strategy, establish capability frameworks, create learning pathways and lead organisation-wide AI adoption, helping thousands of employees develop the skills and confidence to use AI safely and effectively.

Working alongside executive leaders, People & Culture and AI specialists, you'll bridge the gap between emerging AI technologies and workforce capability, ensuring AI becomes embedded into everyday ways of working.

This is not a technical AI engineering role, nor is it a traditional Learning & Development position. We're looking for an experienced transformation leader who can translate rapidly evolving AI technologies into scalable capability, learning and adoption programs that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and execute the enterprise AI Academy strategy and capability roadmap
- Design learning architectures, role-based capability frameworks and AI learning pathways
- Establish AI Champion Networks, Communities of Practice and peer learning models to accelerate enterprise adoption
- Develop certification, accreditation and workforce capability programs that build sustainable AI fluency
- Lead enterprise AI enablement through workshops, masterclasses, learning campaigns and executive engagement
- Create scalable learning assets including playbooks, prompt libraries, use case repositories and knowledge resources
- Build partnerships with technology vendors, universities and learning providers to expand AI capability across the organisation
- Measure capability uplift, AI adoption and business outcomes to continuously improve the Academy

Skills & Experience





- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide workforce capability, organisational transformation, learning or technology adoption programs
- Demonstrated success establishing capability frameworks, learning ecosystems or workforce development initiatives at scale
- Experience driving behavioural change and adoption across large, complex organisations
- Strong executive stakeholder management and the ability to influence leaders across business and technology
- Experience developing role-based learning pathways, competency frameworks or accreditation models
- Experience establishing Communities of Practice, Champion Networks or enterprise learning communities
- Strong understanding of organisational change, workforce transformation and adult learning principles

AI Experience

- Solid understanding of Generative AI, AI Agents, automation and emerging AI technologies
- Hands‑on experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or similar enterprise AI platforms
- Comfortable translating AI concepts into practical business capability and workforce outcomes
- Passion for experimenting with emerging AI technologies and leading by example through AI‑native ways of working

Highly Regarded

- Experience leading AI, automation or digital workplace adoption initiatives
- Experience partnering with People & Culture or Organisational Development teams
- Experience within large enterprise, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or other highly regulated environments
- Experience establishing certification, accreditation or digital credential programs
