Service Owner, 13YARN (Identified First Nations Role)

About 13YARN

13YARN is Australia's first national crisis support line created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. More than a helpline, 13YARN provides a culturally safe space where healing begins with connection. Available 24/7, the service empowers people to seek support without judgement, shame or stigma, offering compassionate conversations that strengthen wellbeing, resilience and hope for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia

We are seeking an exceptional Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leader to step into the role of Service Owner -13YARN. This pivotal role holds end‑to‑end responsibility for the cultural integrity, safety, quality, and performance of 13YARN. You will shape how the service operates today,and how it evolves into the future.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead service design, planning, and continuous improvement
- Define and maintain the service model and roadmap
- Monitor service performance, risks, and quality outcomes
- Embed strong clinical governance and risk management frameworks
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Embed culturally safe, trauma‑informed,



community‑led approach advocate for culturally appropriate models of care

The Successful Applicant Will…

- Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with strong cultural knowledge, community connection, and cultural authority
- Deep understanding of cultural safety, intergenerational trauma, and the social and emotional wellbeing framework
- Minimum undergraduate degree in Psychology, Business, Design or related field
- Bring experience in service leadership, clinical or service governance, quality systems, or program oversight
- Robust understanding of service design, human‑centred design and user experience principles
- Experience in service or product management, ideally in crisis, mental health or healthcare settings
- Hands‑on experience conducting user research and usability testing
