Yard Team Leader - Marsden Park

We’re on the lookout for a motivated Yard Team Leader to join our team based at our Marsden Park branch, servicing projects across Sydney. Our Civil Rents & Propping Branch hires shoring, traffic equipment and structural propping solutions. We are family owned, not a big slow corporate.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, all-rounder position that is a step up from a yard person. You are on the tools and in the yard every day, but you are also the one setting the standard, planning the run, and making sure nothing leaves the gate that should not. This combines customer service, and yard support. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet and equipment are always presented to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Run the day to day operation of the Marsden Park yard — layout, flow, presentation, discipline

- Plan the pick, prep and load so gear is ready before the truck arrives, not after

- Operate the machinery daily and lead by example on manual handling and safe work

- Keep equipment locations and movements accurate in our system.

- Coordinate with the hire desk, drivers,



install crews and the workshop so everyone is working off the same plan

- Report damage and defects fast, and chase them through to fixed

- Set and hold the standard for the yard team — pre-starts, PPE, housekeeping, no shortcuts

- Jump in a truck or on a job when the day demands it

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

- Have excellent customer service skills and a professional manner.

- Be a team player who is happy to help out in the yard as well as on the road.

- Be physically fit and capable of manual handling (up to 20kg).

- Enjoy being part of an exciting start-up environment where no two days are the same.

- Comfortable with technology — hire software, tablets, phones. You do not need to be an expert, you do need to be willing

- Experience in equipment hire, construction, or logistics is highly regarded.

- A forklift licence and/or crane truck operating experience will be an advantage.

The role is probably not for you if;

- You want a fixed 7am to 3pm with no exceptions

- You would rather be told what to do than decide what needs doing
