Nurse Unit Manager - Theatre
Location: 2 hours from Melbourne
Hours: Permanent Fulltime
Salary: $71.92ph + Super & $15,900 Salary Packaging

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate perioperative leader to join a growing service, drive positive change, build a high-performing team and support the future expansion of the theatre department.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Operating Suite, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centred care while leading workforce planning, recruitment, performance, quality improvement and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide robust clinical and operational leadership
- Drive improvements in patient flow, service delivery and efficiency
- Manage quality, safety, governance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support staff development, performance management and culture
- Manage departmental budgets, resources and operational outcomes
- Lead change initiatives and support theatre expansion plans
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- Lead workforce planning, rostering, recruitment and skill mix management
Requirements:
- AHPRA RN registration
- 3+ years Theatre Nurse Unit Manager experience
- Experience within the public healthcare sector
- Strong leadership capability managing large teams and complex operations
- Experience leading change, recruitment and service improvement initiatives
- Ability to drive accountability while fostering a positive culture
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

Support Structure: You will work closely with a strong leadership team including:
- Multiple Theatre ANUMs
- Day Procedure NUM
- CSSD Technical Manager
- Wider operational and clinical leadership teams
About the Theatre Department:
- 6 operational theatres, with plans to expand and open additional 4 theatres over the next 12 months
- Large multidisciplinary team of approximately 60 FTE
- Supports a broad range of surgical specialties including: Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, General surgery and other specialty services
- Strong focus on growth, recruitment and change management
- Visiting specialist consultants supported from Melbourne
