Prep Chef – Join Our Growing Team

As our café continues to grow, Castaway Coffee Bar is expanding our kitchen team and looking for a reliable and organised Prep Chef.

This role focuses on completing daily food preparation to ensure our busy kitchen is fully stocked and ready for service. You’ll work closely with our chefs to maintain quality, consistency and efficient kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities:

- Complete daily food preparation accurately and efficiently
- Prepare sauces, dressings, proteins, vegetables and other menu components
- Follow recipes and portioning standards
- Rotate, label and store food correctly
- Monitor stock levels and communicate prep requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe workspace
- Assist the kitchen team during busy service periods when required

What we’re looking for:

- Previous commercial kitchen or food-preparation experience




- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a prep list
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- Knowledge of food safety and storage procedures
- A reliable, positive attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting

We offer consistent daytime hours, no late nights and a supportive team environment within a growing beachfront café.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour
