Drive key development contributions & infrastructure planning projects within a leading local government team Your new organisation Hays is working with a metropolitan council to recruit an experienced Principal Planner - Infrastructure Planning & Development Contributions to support several high-profile Development Contributions Plan (DCP) initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with strong experience in development contributions, infrastructure funding and strategic planning to play a key role in shaping growth and infrastructure delivery outcomes within a local government environment.

Your new role

Working within a strategic planning and infrastructure team, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting critical development contribution projects, including:

- Developing a municipal Development Contributions Plan (DCP)
- Establishing internal frameworks and processes to support DCP implementation
- Supporting negotiations with developers regarding DCP project delivery
- Preparing and reviewing infrastructure planning documentation
- Providing strategic advice on infrastructure funding and development contributions
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to support infrastructure planning priorities
- Contributing to the establishment of governance, reporting and risk management processes relating to DCP delivery
- Managing project timelines, stakeholder engagement and project outcomes





What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Several years' experience in Development Contributions Plans (DCPs) and infrastructure planning
- Previous experience working within local government, highly regarded
- Strong understanding of the Victorian planning framework and development contributions systems
- Experience preparing or implementing DCPs, ICPs or related infrastructure funding mechanisms
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Strong project management capability, including the delivery of complex planning projects
- Well-developed written communication, policy development and reporting skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Strategic Planning, Property, Economics, Infrastructure Planning or a related discipline
