As our project workload continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Project Electrical Engineer to join our Perth CBD office and play a key role in delivering challenging engineering projects from concept through to commissioning.
About the Role
Working within our experienced engineering team, you will manage and deliver electrical engineering projects across mining, utilities and industrial sectors. You will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, liaising with clients, consultants and contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop technically within a highly respected engineering consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical engineering projects from concept design through detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare and review electrical engineering designs, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
- Design electrical systems for mining, utilities and industrial facilities.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, scope and variations.
- Liaise directly with clients, contractors and vendors throughout project delivery.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and risk assessments.
- Undertake site inspections, commissioning activities and construction support where required.
- Assist with preparation of technical proposals and tender submissions.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with Australian Standards and client specifications.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability and efficiency within client assets.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Approximately 5–10 years of electrical engineering experience within mining, utilities or heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience delivering engineering design projects from concept through commissioning.
- Experience managing project scope, schedules and budgets.
- Strong understanding of Australian electrical engineering standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Robust client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Technical Skills Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly regarded:
- High Voltage Substations
- Power System Studies
- Protection Coordination Studies
- Arc Flash Studies
- Earthing Studies
- Load Flow Studies
- Short Circuit Studies
- Harmonic Analysis
- Power Quality Studies
- Grid Connection Studies
- Motor Control Centres
- Industrial Electrical Design
- Renewable Energy Integration
Software experience in one or more of:
- ETAP
- DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Project (essential)
Knowledge of:
- AS/NZS 3000
- AS/NZS 3008
- AS 2067
- WA Electrical Requirements
- Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
Desirable
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
- National Engineering Register (NER)
- Site construction and commissioning experience
