The prospect

We're looking for an emerging safety and prevention professional to join our People Risk – Safety & Prevention team as an Associate, based in Sydney. Working closely with senior colleagues, you'll support and help deliver safety, prevention and risk‑management engagements, from board and executive advisory through to hands‑on delivery. This will be across a wide range of industries and workplaces throughout the Pacific.

It's a role with real breadth: no two clients (or weeks) look the same, and you'll be supported to grow your capability and take on more responsibility as you develop.

What you’ll do

- Support the delivery of client engagements, helping to coordinate their safety, prevention and risk‑management needs.
- Contribute to engagements from scoping through to delivery, helping keep projects on scope, time and budget.
- Work with senior stakeholders and support working groups to achieve project milestones.
- Support the preparation and delivery of workshops and briefings for leaders and frontline teams, building towards board and executive audiences over time.
- Support the development of advice on WHS/OHS obligations, psychosocial risk and injury prevention, learning to translate complex requirements into practical,



defensible solutions.
- Contribute to proposals and scopes of work, and help build strong client relationships.
- Produce written and verbal work that is technically accurate, timely and genuinely useful.
- Collaborate with the wider team and contribute to the tools and IP that shape our advisory offer.
- During your first six to twelve months, you'll focus on learning our methodologies and getting to know our clients, working alongside senior colleagues across a range of engagements and taking on more responsibility as your confidence grows. Over time, we'd expect you to be running elements of engagements yourself, building trusted client relationships, and contributing to new work.
- From there, the pathway to Senior Associate and beyond is clear for those who want it, with genuine mentoring, support and the opportunity to grow within a growing national practice.

Let's talk about you

- 1–3 years' experience in a safety/WHS or closely related role, or a relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated aptitude.
- A working knowledge of Australian WHS/OHS legislation, along with Codes of Practice, compliance codes and regulator guidance (including current psychosocial obligations), or a strong willingness to build this quickly.
- A foundational understanding of risk‑management principles applied to WHS/OHS hazards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and adapt your style from the boardroom to the shop floor.




- An interest in client‑facing consulting work, and the organisation to manage several tasks at once.
- Comfort with data and analytics to turn information into insight (including Excel).
- Tertiary qualifications (completed or near completion) in work health and safety, allied health, law or a related field.
- A genuine passion in creating new programs of work that make a genuine difference in our clients’ workplaces.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel intra/interstate and occasionally overnight.

The below skills, experience and training is not a must have, but will assist in this role

- Some exposure to a billable consulting or comparable client‑facing environment.
- Knowledge of biomechanics, ergonomics and manual handling prevention/improvement programs.
- Allied health background and exposure to injury management advisory.
- Psychosocial risk exposure and familiarity with ISO 45003.
- ICAM or other incident‑investigation training.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., AIHS) and demonstrated CPD.
