About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Panel Beater to join our team at our Pambula location on a full-time basis. This position will consist of a 3-month trial period trial before signing up to ensure the role suits all parties. The role is full-time Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.30 pm. As an Apprentice Panel Beater, you will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the essential skills required to repair and restore vehicle bodywork to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a rewarding career in the automotive trades, gaining practical hands‑on experience whilst completing your formal apprenticeship qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting in the removal and repair of damaged vehicle panels and bodywork components
- Learning and applying panel beating techniques including metal finishing, panel straightening and alignment
- Preparing vehicle surfaces for painting through grinding, filling and sanding
- Working safely with power tools and hand tools appropriate to panel beating work
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures
- Following workshop procedures and instructions from experienced panel beaters and supervisors
- Contributing to the efficient operation of the workshop and supporting the team
- Learning to diagnose damage to vehicles and assess repair requirements
