It provides a professional and supportive workplace that promotes staff development and the delivery of outstanding dining experiences. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items, including pizzas, pasta, grilled dishes, burgers, seafood, salads, breakfast items, desserts and side dishes, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
- Prepare and portion ingredients, including dough, sauces, marinades and garnishes, in accordance with established recipes and food preparation standards.
- Develop and update menus, seasonal specials and new dishes, considering customer preferences, food trends and ingredient availability.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency in taste, portion size, presentation and timely service.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, allocate daily duties,
and provide training to maintain efficient kitchen operations and high performance.
- Estimate food requirements, control inventory, order supplies and minimise food wastage through effective stock management practices.
- Inspect incoming food supplies to ensure quality standards are met and store all ingredients in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
- Monitor the operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment, reporting faults and arranging servicing to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.
- Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to maintain efficient service, enhance customer satisfaction and support the overall success of the restaurant.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in a related field.
- Minimum one year of relevant full-time experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prioritise tasks, and meet service deadlines.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
