SAP ABAP Developer | S/4HANA

- Preston, VIC (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)
- 3-month initial contract
- $900 – $1,000 per day inclusive

The Role We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer for a key 3-month contract to play a crucial role in a major SAP S/4HANA Upgrade project for a leading enterprise retail group.

Reporting directly to the SAP Upgrade Solution Architect, you will serve as a hands-on technical specialist responsible for designing, building, testing, and remediating integration solutions. You will work across modern ABAP development, enhancements, interfaces, and CDS view optimisations, collaborating closely with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Delivery: Design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions across enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows.
- S/4HANA Upgrade Support: Perform code remediation, analysis, build, and optimise CDS views .
- Integrations: Design and develop integration interfaces using IDocs and OData Services .
- Troubleshooting & Optimisation: Execute root cause analysis, application defect resolution, debugging,



and performance tuning.
- Documentation & Standards: Prepare thorough technical documentation, support testing cycles, and ensure all development strictly aligns with SAP best practices.

Selection Criteria

- Core ABAP & S/4HANA: Proven hands-on SAP ABAP development experience with mandatory expertise in S/4HANA and modern ABAP development practices ( ABAP on HANA ).
- CDS Views: Demonstrated, practical experience building, analysing, and optimising CDS views .
- Integrations & Protocols: Solid background with integration methods including IDocs, OData Services, BAPIs, APIs, or web services.
- Troubleshooting: Solid background in performance tuning, complex debugging, and technical problem-solving.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical specifications to functional teams and stakeholders.
