South Morang Motor Group is continuing to grow, and we're looking for an energetic, motivated, and results-driven Vehicle Buyer to help build our used vehicle inventory.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the automotive industry, enjoys negotiating, and thrives on building relationships. You'll play a key role in sourcing quality vehicles that keep our dealership stocked with the right inventory for our customers.

About the Role

As our Vehicle Buyer, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, purchasing, and managing the acquisition of quality used vehicles from a variety of sources, including:

- Private sellers

- Trade-ins

- Wholesale markets

- Dealer networks

- Online buying platforms

- Fleet and business opportunities

Working closely with our Used Vehicle Manager and Sales Team, you'll help ensure we always have the right mix of vehicles to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and purchase quality used vehicles at competitive prices.

- Appraise trade-in vehicles accurately.

- Build strong relationships with private sellers, wholesalers, and industry contacts.

- Monitor market trends and vehicle values.

- Negotiate purchases professionally and confidently.

- Ensure purchased vehicles meet our quality standards.

- Manage the vehicle buying process from initial contact through to acquisition.

- Assist in achieving monthly stock and profitability targets.





What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

- Experience in vehicle buying, used vehicle sales, wholesale, or vehicle appraisals (preferred).

- Strong knowledge of vehicle values and the used car market.

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently.

- High attention to detail.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
