We are a well-established business in the building hardware industry and are seeking a reliable and hardworking Storeman to join our team.
This is a hands-on role that requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both suppliers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving, checking, and storing incoming stock
- Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders
- Obtaining and comparing freight quotes from various carriers
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse
- Managing inventory and stock control processes
- Using computer systems for stock management and order processing
- Liaising professionally with suppliers regarding deliveries and stock enquiries
- Assisting customers with product collection and enquiries
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Previous warehouse/storeman experience, preferably within the building materials or hardware industry
- Valuable computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers, customers, and team members
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in the building hardware, construction, or timber industry
- Knowledge of warehouse inventory systems
- Current driver's license
