The Opportunity
Our client is a large, well-known industry leader. They have been on an impressive growth trajectory and are a well-loved household name. As a motivated and collaborative Senior Tax Analyst, you will join the team at a group level to provide taxation advice on strategic and operational business scenarios related to indirect tax matters as they arise and provide medium to longer term taxation planning. The remit of the role will grow organically to involve direct tax matters.
The Challenge
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager and working with a number of stakeholders internally, the role will include but not be limited to:
- Managing the taxation obligation at a group level including GST, FBT and some exposure to income tax
- Preparation of monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) for the group with the support of the corporate accounting team
- Consult on significant areas of GST exposure
- Become a key point of contact for all audits and reviews including internal auditors, external audits and taxation authorities such as the ATO
- Implement tax initiatives and tax process improvement measures to drive excellence
