The Opportunity
We're looking for qualified Mechanical Fitters, Mechanical Technicians or Diesel Fitters to join our expanding Mechanical Maintenance team, supporting operations throughout the Surat Basin on a 15 days on/13 days off roster.
This position is ideally suited to DIDO candidates; however, FIFO arrangements will also be considered for the right applicant. Travel to and from site forms part of your 15-day swing, allowing you to enjoy the full 13 days off between rosters. Camp accommodation, meals and mess facilities are provided while on roster.
Working as part of an embedded site maintenance team,
you'll support the safe and reliable operation of critical gas compression and power generation assets through preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, planned outages, breakdown response, major overhauls and continuous improvement initiatives.
We're looking for people who are eager to learn, take ownership of their work, contribute positively to the team and consistently deliver quality outcomes. Whether you're already experienced with gas compression equipment or looking to develop your skills in this specialised field, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll gain exposure to a broad range of gas compression, power generation and rotating equipment, working across leading OEM platforms including Caterpillar, Waukesha, Ariel, Superior, Gemini and more. Supported by experienced technicians and equipped with high-quality tooling, equipment and resources, you'll have the opportunity to continually broaden your technical capability across maintenance, diagnostics, major overhauls and asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on gas engines, compressors and rotating equipment.
- Diagnose faults and respond to equipment breakdowns safely and efficiently.
- Complete planned maintenance, inspections and major engine and compressor overhauls.
- Support commissioning, shutdowns and equipment improvement projects.
- Complete maintenance documentation and work records.
- Conduct equipment inspections, condition monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to equipment reliability, plant availability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take pride in your workspace by maintaining Entec's tooling, equipment and workshop facilities to the highest standard.
- Champion a proactive safety culture through hazard identification, risk management and compliance with company and client requirements.
Engineering/Mechanical Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter, Automotive Mechanic, Fitter & Turner or equivalent).
Current unrestricted C Class Driver Licence (or higher).
Construction White Card.
Ability to work a 15 days on/13 days off roster.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
Advantageous
- Relevant OEM training or certifications.
- High Risk Work Licence (LF, EWP, DG, Telehandler).
- Type B – Repair and Maintain Stationary Gas Fuelled Reciprocating Engines.
