We are a well-established and highly regarded Gold Coast law firm seeking an experienced Accounts Team Member to lead our accounts team and support the continued growth of the practice.
This is a key role responsible for overseeing all aspects of legal accounting, compliance, and financial operations within a busy skilled services environment.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for the effective management of the firm’s accounting operations, including:
- Management of trust and general accounts in compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements;
- Oversight of billing, receipting, and debtor control processes;
- Monitoring and reporting on financial performance, including preparation of monthly management reports;
- Supervision and mentoring of accounts and administrative staff;
- Ensuring compliance with legal accounting standards and audit requirements;
- Management of accounts payable and receivable functions;
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors; and
- Continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes and team efficiencies
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a senior accounts or finance role within a law firm;
- Robust knowledge of trust accounting and legal compliance requirements;
- Experience with legal practice management systems (e.g. LawMaster or similar);
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills;
- Strong leadership capability;
- High level of integrity and professionalism; and
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, deadline-driven environment
