This well established and high-performing sheet metal fabrication business, based in the Southern suburbs of Brisbane, specialises in custom flashings, rainwater goods, architectural metalwork and complex project work for commercial and residential clients. They have a strong reputation for quality, communication and on-time delivery, together with a customer-centric approach ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standard.

The Position…

The General Manager position will be a hands-on role with full operational and commercial accountability. You will own the day-to-day running of the business while driving growth, margin and team performance. You will report directly to the owners and work closely with the workshop, field and office teams.

The key responsibilities include:

- Lead and develop the workshop, field crews and office team

- Drive sales and business development while maintaining strong existing client relationships

- Oversee production planning, scheduling, quality and on-time delivery

- Manage commercial performance – quoting, margins, cash flow and KPIs

- Build and protect a high-performance, accountable culture

- Continuously improve systems, processes and customer experience

- Identify and develop new opportunities across architectural, commercial and residential markets

This is not a “sit in the office and manage from afar” role. They’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves,



lead from the front, and take real ownership.

The Ideal Candidate…

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

- Proven experience in the sheet metal fabrication / metal manufacturing / roofing-related industry (this is non-negotiable)

- Robust sales and business development background with a track record of winning and growing work

- Genuine all-rounder – comfortable moving between the workshop floor, client meetings, quoting and strategic planning

- Excellent people skills and a collaborative, team-first leadership style

- Commercial acumen and the ability to run a P&L; with discipline

- Experience managing or scaling a fabrication or construction-related business (highly desirable)

- Strong existing networks in the South East Queensland construction and architectural markets (highly desirable)

- A practical, no-nonsense approach combined with high standards
