About us
Day Surgery Services delivers coordinated, patient-centred care across the Day Surgery Ward, Endoscopy Unit, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit and Acute Pain Service. Supporting both elective and emergency patients, the team works collaboratively to provide safe, efficient care before and after procedures. From preparing patients for surgery to recovery and specialised pain management, the service plays a vital role in ensuring positive patient outcomes and a seamless surgical journey.
About the role
Provide advanced clinical care across Day Surgery Services, using expert clinical judgement, critical thinking and evidence-based practice to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. Lead and support the team by coordinating patient care, guiding clinical decision-making and assisting with the resolution of clinical and operational issues. Mentor and develop staff by supporting the education and professional growth of nursing colleagues and undergraduate students. Drive quality and safety through continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practice and proactively identifying and escalating patient safety concerns.
About you
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent); postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty are highly regarded.
Advanced clinical expertise with proven skills in delivering comprehensive, person-centred care, clinical decision-making and coordinating care across Day Surgery Services. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to support teams, build collaborative relationships, delegate effectively and foster a positive, professional culture. Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement, including applying evidence-based practice, participating in audits, managing risk and implementing service improvements. Passion for learning and development, demonstrated through ongoing professional development, mentoring colleagues and contributing to education, research and clinical innovation.
What we offer
- Total remuneration value of up to $114,674 p.a.
- An hourly rate between $57.76 - $61.85 p.h.
