About the Role
MSS Security is seeking a Part‑Time Aviation Protection Officer to join our team at Ballina Airport. As an Aviation Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff and airport operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct security screening of passengers, staff, and visitors
- Operate screening equipment and security technology, including X‑ray machines, metal detectors, and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) systems
- Perform passenger, staff, visitor, and baggage screening to identify prohibited items,
dangerous goods, and security threats
- Monitor and patrol airport facilities, reporting and responding to security incidents, breaches, and potential risks
Requirements
- Full Australian working rights
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to undergo and pass a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing)
- 24/7 availability required
