Westbourne Grammar School is seeking an exceptional educational leader to shape one of Australia's most significant and innovative Middle School programs.

A key executive leadership role, the Head of Middle School leads a thriving community of staff and approximately 800 students across Years 5 to 8, with responsibility for fostering a culture where high expectations, strong relationships and operational excellence deliver outstanding outcomes for young people.

The Prospect

- Support key Middle School leaders in overseeing student learning, cocurricular, wellbeing and pastoral care across Years 5 to 8, ensuring a coherent and consistent approach aligned with the school's strategic vision and values.
- Build and sustain a Middle School culture where high expectations, open communication, excellent conduct and strong relationships are explicit and upheld.
- Strengthen professional practice by coaching and developing middle leaders and staff through evidence-based feedback and agreed whole‑school practices.
- Be accountable for the daily operations of the Middle School, including routines, transitions, supervision, attendance, communication, events and the effective and efficient management of the precinct.
- Partner with families and colleagues across the school to support student growth, belonging and success.

About You

- Relevant educational qualifications and VIT registration.
- Demonstrated expertise in middle years pedagogy and adolescent development.
- Experience leading large teams and complex school operations.
- A strong track record in culture building, staff development and student wellbeing.




- Outstanding communication and relationship‑building skills.
- High levels of organisational capability, judgement and professionalism.
