The Chance

We are seeking a Senior Land Activation Specialist to lead and drive NSWALC's land activation capability. This role is critical in supporting Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs) to plan, manage, and deliver land activation projects that create sustainable social and economic benefits. You will provide expert advice, oversee project delivery, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation while balancing cultural, social, and commercial considerations.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess NSWALC and LALC land portfolios to identify activation opportunities.
- Evaluate planning controls and regulatory requirements for development feasibility.
- Provide evidence-based advice on activation pathways, timelines, and risks.
- Manage land activation projects, including stakeholder engagement and resource coordination.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, property, policy) for effective project delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, corporate partners, and LALCs.

About You

To succeed in this role,



you will have:

- Extensive experience in property development and project management.
- Strong understanding of financial practices related to property projects.
- Ability to interpret and apply land use legislation and planning instruments.
- Excellent negotiation, mediation, and stakeholder management skills.Knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal communities and cultures in NSW.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel across NSW.
- Australian Working rights required.
- Tertiary qualifications in property, development, business, or finance.
