You will provide high‑quality clinical care across hospital and rural clinic settings while bringing advanced skills in Obstetrics, Emergency Medicine, or Procedural Anaesthetics to Mareeba community.

Senior Medical Officer | Flexible Full Time or Flexible Part Time | Mareeba, QLD

Location: Mareeba Hospital,Rural & Remote Service – MAREEBA

We are seekingan enthusiastic Rural Generalist to join our team in tropical North Queensland.Mareeba Hospital is a 40-bed Level 3 facility servicing the Mareeba Districtwith a large Indigenous population. We provide outreach services to thetownship of Dimbulah, as well as a nearby Lotus Glen Correctional Centre. Ourcase load includes emergency presentations with trauma and acute illnesses,care of inpatients including paediatrics and a general practice outpatientclinic. We see approximately 2,000-2,500 people per month through ourEmergency Department and have about 500 admissions. Our GP Clinic also sees 500patients per month.





Mareeba isa one hour drive from Cairns and is located on the AthertonTablelands with a population of approximately 10,500 people. The town is 417metres above sea level on the confluence of the Barron River,Granite Creek and Emerald Creek. Mareeba has a multiculturalheritage, with beautiful fresh produce, scenic mountain bike riding, birdwatching, various wineries and several coffee plantations. It is an easy scenicdrive to other equally beautiful towns on the Atherton Tablelands.
