Work Health & Safety Business Partner (3 Days Per Week)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Work Health & Safety Business Partner to establish and lead our WHS capability across residential aged care, independent living and corporate services.
This is a newly created role offering a rare opportunity to shape WHS systems, culture and practices from the ground up while partnering directly with leaders and influencing organisation-wide outcomes.

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will be JMV's WHS subject matter expert and trusted business partner.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring regular engagement with staff and leaders across all operational areas. You'll spend time on the floor supporting teams, identifying risks, coaching leaders and driving practical safety outcomes.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Building and continuously improving WHS systems and processes
Leading risk management initiatives across residential aged care, independent living and corporate services
Conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety walks
Supporting incident investigations and corrective actions
Coordinating workers compensation and return-to-work processes




Driving hazard and near-miss reporting improvements
Building leadership capability and accountability for WHS
Strengthening psychosocial risk management and workplace wellbeing
Supporting WHS Committee effectiveness and consultation processes
Delivering WHS reporting and insights to Executive and Board stakeholders
Supporting audits, compliance activities and regulatory requirements.
About You
You are an experienced WHS professional who enjoysworking closely with people and creating practical safety solutions.
You will bring:
Qualifications in WHS or a related discipline
Demonstrated success in a hands-on WHS role
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management frameworks
Experience investigating incidents and implementing sustainable corrective actions
Experience building or significantly improving WHS systems and practices
Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills
Strong analytical and reporting capability
A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
Experience in aged care, health care, community services or other high-risk operational environments will be highly regarded.
