Our client isis a specialist private practice located in Thornlands, QLD, focusing on speech pathology services related to learning and literacy. Unlike most clinics, it caters to a wide demographic including children, university students, and adults with learning-related conditions. The clinic's unique strength lies in its specialized, high-intensity interventions for literacy and language disorders, often addressing the intersection between learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions like ADHD and ASD.
About the role
Our client is looking for a Speech Pathologist to work primarily with clients who have conditions affecting learning, such as dyslexia, developmental language disorder (DLD), ADHD, and intellectual disability.
The caseload includes children aged 5-18, university students, and adults, often working professionals. While the primary focus is on learning and literacy disorders, a small portion of the caseload includes more conventional paediatric speech work, such as articulation, phonology,
and supporting clients with ASD in interpersonal or relational goals. The role involves a range of responsibilities, including:
Conducting assessments, interventions, and writing reports
Providing evidence-based literacy therapies (e.g. synthetic phonics, narrative structure, paragraph construction)
Delivering language-focused interventions (e.g. vocabulary building, spoken grammar and syntax, narrative programs)
Occasionally working off-site (e.g. school visits) or via telehealth
Being based at the Thornlands clinic with some flexibility in hours for the right candidate
