Job Title: Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician

Responsibilities
The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician will provide recovery‐focused, person‐centred, and culturally competent services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, advocacy, and review as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Services will be delivered to both Aboriginal and non‐Aboriginal people who are referred to the service with mental illness, distress, or risk issues.
Eligibility and Requirements
Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and demonstrate Aboriginality; applicants must address the selection criterion.
Key qualifications: Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) or registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Demonstrated ability to provide high‐quality, safe, and connected care to consumers, families, and carers in a person‐centred and holistic manner, promoting self‐determination.




High‐level communication skills and the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in computer use, including Electronic Medical Record Programs and Microsoft Office, and Skype for Business.
Knowledge of mental health directions, strategic priorities, and legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act ****).
Current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to travel long distances as required; overnight stays may be necessary.
Eligible for permanent employment: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Current Zealand citizen with a current passport.
