About the Program
Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) is offering a structured 12-month Current Graduate Program for Radiographerscommencingtheir careers in January ****.
Designed for final-year students graduating in ****, the program provides a supported pathway into public hospital radiography, with rotational exposure across general X-ray, mobile and theatre imaging, and fluoroscopy, backed by a dedicated education and clinical supervision framework.
BMI provides a 24/7 comprehensive diagnostic imaging service across University Hospital Geelong, Barwon Health North, the McKellar Centre and Colac Area Health, using Digital X-ray, OPG, 3rd generation Dual Energy and Spectral CT, 3.0T MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, a new Hybrid Angio-CT Interventional suite, Mammography and Nuclear Medicine.

What You'll Be Doing
Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging across X-ray, Mobile X-ray, Theatre and Fluoroscopy in accordance with ALARA principles and valid clinical requests.
Build your clinical confidence with dedicated support, starting with a graduate-focused orientation and increasing exposure to more complex cases as your skills and experience grow.
Ensure patient safety through accurate identification, correct positioning,



and adherence to quality imaging standards.
Participate in a 24/7 rotating roster (excluding night shift/on-call allowances) across day and evening shifts.
Escalate equipment or clinical issues to senior staff and engage actively in departmental learning activities.
Undertake structured training toward additional imaging modalities to build long-term capability including CT, Angiography, PACS, Mammography, (note MRI and Ultrasound involve separate internal recruitment processes for training positions).
What We're Looking For
Completing (or recently completed in ****) a tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging recognised by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT).
Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Radiation Practitioner by the January **** commencement date.
Eligible to hold a Victorian Government Department of Health Radiation 'Use Licence'.
