You're practical, solutions-focused, confident engaging in the field with diverse stakeholders, and able to negotiate positive outcomes.
You apply legislation fairly and consistently and enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same.About the roleDeliver high-quality compliance, enforcement, and customer service functions supporting the safety and liveability of Cobar Shire, including:Investigating complaints and undertaking patrolsAnimal handling and applying relevant legislationCompliance across companion animals, littering and water pollution, abandoned vehicles, public safety hazards, parks and reserves, building sites, and obstructions in public spacesThis is a hands-on regulatory role with high autonomy, combining proactive community engagement and formal enforcement where required.Pay and conditionsBand 2 Level 3: up to $98,000 per annum, plus superannuation and relocationLocal Government (State) Award conditionsOvertime and on-call opportunities as requiredAdditional informationShortlisted candidates will undergo pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.Cobar Shire Council encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people of all ages, people with disabilities, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold unlimited working rights in Australia to apply.
