This is a casual position based in Edgecliff NSW ****, offering flexibility for educators who wish to work on an as-needed basis.
As an English/Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction to primary school students, helping them develop fundamental literacy and numeracy skills that form the foundation of their educational journey.
This position is integral to our commitment to providing excellent teaching and learning experiences for our students.Key responsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging English lessons that develop students' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in line with curriculum requirementsDesign and deliver mathematics lessons that build students' understanding of key numeracy concepts and problem-solving abilitiesCreate a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel motivated to learn and participateAssess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their academic developmentAdapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of individual students within the classroomCollaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support the overall school vision and educational objectivesMaintain accurate records of student attendance,



progress and achievementCommunicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and wellbeingFollow school policies and contribute to a safe, respectful school communityWhat we're looking forTeaching qualification or relevant tertiary qualification in Education, English, Mathematics or a related disciplineCurrent or working towards registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or equivalent teaching registrationStrong subject knowledge in English and Mathematics at the primary school levelProven experience teaching primary school students, ideally across multiple year levelsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents and colleaguesAbility to differentiate instruction and support students with varying learning needs and abilitiesProficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learningA commitment to continuing professional development and staying current with best practice in primary educationFlexibility and adaptability, essential for casual teaching rolesA genuine passion for education and a student-centred approach to teachingWhat we offerDuke values its educators and provides a supportive working environment.
