Brisbane City Council - Natural Area & Habitats Team Members
Are you an experienced outdoor qualified passionate about preserving Brisbane's beautiful natural habitats?
We are seeking dedicated Natural Areas and Habitats Team Members to undertake skilled rehabilitation, maintenance, and conservation work across Brisbane City Council's bushland and roadside conservation areas.
Working within a supportive team, you will ensure our natural environments are maintained to the highest standards, operating autonomously and using your specialist environmental skills every day.
Depot Locations Available:
Natural Areas Team Member - Lota
Habitats Team Member - Darra & Toowong
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Habitat Rehabilitation: Undertake skilled maintenance of conservation areas, including vegetation management, clearing pathways, and maintaining trees and shrubs
Weed Identification: Identify and report on weed species to protect native biodiversity.
Asset Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-start checks and maintain all machinery to Council and manufacturer specifications.
Emergency & Fire Response: Assist with fire response and Hazard Reduction Burns (if fully trained).
Field Operations:



Safely operate 4x4 fleet vehicles to access and conduct tasks within rugged natural areas.
What You Will Bring:
Mandatory Requirements:
Proven industry experience
Valid White Card (General Construction Induction).
Manual Drivers License
Highly Desirable (or Willingness to Obtain):
Certificate 3 in Conservation & Ecosystem & Land Management or similar
ACDC Chemical Licence
Chainsaw Level 2 & Pole Saw tickets
4x4 Recovery Training Level 1 (or above)
First Aid & CPR Certification
Fire Fighting training
Working in Proximity to Roads
MR Truck License
