Staff Specialist/ Senior Staff Specialist - Haematology
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality effective haematology services that meet the clinical needs of Queenslanders.
They will provide expert diagnostic and consultative services, contribute to statewide clinical excellence and service development while participating in quality assurance and audit activities.
You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and laboratory colleagues to ensure service excellence and optimal patient outcomes while consistently demonstrating Queensland Public Service values.
This position will be offered as temporary part time 0.4FTE (32 hrs/fn).
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated contemporary knowledge, skills and ability in diagnostic pathology, and high level of professionalism required in the position, especially objectivity.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis and management.
Knowledge of the ISO ***** NATA Medical Testing Requirements demonstrating continued accreditation in your clinical specialty for all laboratories across a diverse network
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements




Mandatory requirements are a medical qualification and tertiary qualification in the relevant Pathology discipline (FRCPA, or equivalent) and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist.
The incumbent must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements
It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis B and TB.
Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July **** are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is with a different Queensland Health entity (i.e. one HHS to another HHS, department to a HHS, or HHS to department).
Please note:
the remuneration rates are all excluding super but do include Motor Vehicle Allowance, PDA and Attraction and Retention (50% of base pay), Salary packaging options are also available to maximise income.
