Clinical Nurse Consultant - Haematology and Oncology
An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced paediatric oncology nurse to join the Monash Children's Cancer and Haematology Centre as a Clinical Nurse Consultant, one of Victoria's most respected and comprehensive paediatric cancer services. Working part-time Monday to Friday, this advanced practice role sits at the heart of the care continuum, serving as the primary point of contact for children and adolescents with cancer, their families, and the multidisciplinary teams that support them across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
About You
You are a highly skilled paediatric oncology nurse with extensive acute care experience and the clinical expertise to guide families and teams through the complexity of a childhood cancer diagnosis with confidence and compassion. You bring advanced knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, clinical trials, and holistic cancer care, and you are equally adept at coordinating intricate treatment pathways as you are sitting with a family at one of the most difficult moments of their lives. You are a recognised resource and role model who is committed to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and the ongoing development of your colleagues and your specialty.
Extensive paediatric oncology experience in an acute care setting,
with demonstrated expertise in chemotherapy administration, anti-cancer drug competency accreditation, and knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and clinical trial requirements
Advanced care coordination and clinical consultation skills, including experience as a primary point of contact for complex oncology patients across the full care continuum from diagnosis through to survivorship
Postgraduate qualifications in paediatric or oncology nursing (Graduate Certificate, Diploma, or Master's level), combined with active membership of relevant qualified bodies such as CNSA, ANZCHOG, or SIOP
Strong multidisciplinary collaboration and leadership capability, with experience contributing to MDT meetings, developing clinical guidelines, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and partnering across tertiary and community services
