Start your midwifery career with one of Victoria's largest and most respected maternity services. Whether you're looking for a paid employment pathway or a dedicated clinical fellowship, Monash Women's offers the support, education and clinical experience to help you become the midwife you aspire to be. About the Role
Monash Women's offers two postgraduate midwifery pathways designed to support your clinical learning and professional development. Postgraduate Midwifery Employment Program Combine paid employment with your postgraduate studies as a Registered Nurse-Student Midwife.
In this program you will: Be employed part-time (0.6 EFT) on a fixed-term contract for 18 months commencing March **** Work across a rotating roster, gaining experience across our maternity services and Monash Health sites.
Develop your clinical skills while providing care throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period, including caring for women and babies with complex health needs.



Receive dedicated supernumerary time at the commencement of the program. Be supported throughout your learning by experienced Midwifery Educators and multidisciplinary teams.
Be eligible to apply for ongoing midwifery opportunities following successful completion of your studies and registration, subject to vacancies.
Clinical Postgraduate Midwifery Fellowship Our Clinical Fellowship provides a flexible, wholly supernumerary (unpaid) pathway for students completing their postgraduate midwifery qualification.
The Fellowship includes: Structured clinical placements that meet university requirements. Exposure to the full scope of maternity care across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal journey.
Comprehensive orientation, clinical supervision and ongoing support from dedicated Midwifery Education teams. Rotations across Monash Health maternity sites, providing diverse learning experiences. Eligibility to apply for ongoing midwifery opportunities following successful completion of your studies and registration, subject to vacancies.

You You're a Registered Nurse who is passionate about women's health and ready to take the next step towards a career in midwifery. To be successful, you'll bring:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). A minimum of 12 months' acute nursing experience. Completion of a Graduate Nurse Program (desirable).
Eligibility to enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery at Deakin University. Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills. A commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, woman and family-centred care.
You are someone who: Values teamwork and collaboration. Demonstrates compassion, professionalism and accountability.
Is committed to continuous learning and delivering exceptional care. Thrives in a supportive, fast-paced clinical environment.
