The Domestic Abuse Resource and Training Institute Australia (DART) is a Western Australian based national registered harm prevention charity seeking experienced family and domestic violence facilitators located across the East Coast to join our team.
The role involves delivering specialised training to frontline police across multiple Australian jurisdictions under an Australian Government contract, using evidence-informed content, practical case studies and virtual reality technology.
The engagement is available until 31 December ****, with the possibility of an extension subject to contract arrangements.
This opportunity would suit an experienced facilitator with the flexibility to take on contract work as opportunities arise.
About the role
You will facilitate interactive workshops for frontline police using evidence-informed content, practical case studies and virtual reality technology.
Training is delivered across multiple Australian jurisdictions and generally consists of two sessions per day. Each session is supported by a police champion who provides operational context throughout the program.
Training is scheduled in delivery blocks and may require travel and periods away from home for up to one to two weeks at a time. Applicants should have the flexibility to travel and commit to these delivery blocks.
Training topics include:
Perpetrator misidentification
Victim centred practice




Technology facilitated abuse
Risk assessment and professional judgement
Family, domestic and sexual violence response
About you
We're seeking experienced facilitators with demonstrated expertise in family, domestic and sexual violence who have the experience and confidence to deliver training to frontline police.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in family, domestic and sexual violence, including coercive control.
Experience facilitating training, workshops or qualified education for adult learners.
Excellent presentation, communication and facilitation skills.
Experience working in policing, justice, government, health or the community services sector, or a related field.
Confidence facilitating discussions on complex and sensitive topics.
Flexibility to travel and participate in training delivery blocks.
A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
The following will be highly regarded:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or an equivalent adult education qualification.
Experience delivering training to police or other frontline professionals.
Qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling, criminology, law, community services or a related discipline.
