Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner | From $*****/hr | Laverton
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner to join a well-established food manufacturing facility based in Laverton.
With day, afternoon and night shifts available, this is an excellent chance to secure a permanent full-time position within a busy manufacturing environment.
Working alongside an experienced maintenance team, you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on a variety of production equipment to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working with automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
Carry out routine inspections and equipment servicing
Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals
Complete maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules
Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades
Work closely with production teams, electricians, contractors and site leadership
Participate in the on-call breakdown roster as required
Maintain compliance with WHS, food safety,



quality and environmental standards
About You
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner or equivalent
Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, food processing or production environment
Strong mechanical fault‐finding and troubleshooting skills
Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Solid communication skills and a team‐focused approach
Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
Highly Regarded
Forklift Licence
Welding experience (MMAW/GTAW)
Experience working with automated production equipment
