Macfarlane Generators Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Fitter for Workshop/Hire Department to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is a hands-on technical position based in our Clayton South VIC **** facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of diesel-powered generators and related equipment.
You will play a crucial part in ensuring our hire fleet remains in optimal working condition, supporting both our internal operations and our valued clients.
This position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and reliability.What you'll be doingPerform routine maintenance and preventative servicing on diesel generators, engines and associated equipmentDiagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipmentRepair and replace defective components, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and engine partsConduct thorough inspections of equipment before and after hire to ensure safety and operational standardsMaintain accurate service records and documentation for all equipment servicedTest repaired equipment to verify functionality and performance specificationsCommunicate with Department Manager regarding repair progress and service requirementsAdhere to health and safety regulations and workshop procedures at all timesSupport the hire department by preparing equipment for rental and managing turnaround timesWhat we're looking forFormal qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Fitter, or equivalent demonstrated experience in diesel engine servicing and repairProven experience working on diesel generators, engines or similar heavy machinery in a workshop environmentStrong technical knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, cooling,
