If you're an experienced Occupational Therapist who thrives in a fast-moving acute environment and wants to make a measurable difference to patient outcomes, this ongoing full-time role in the Acute Medical Unit is worth your attention.
What You'll Be Doing Embedded in the Acute Medical Unit, you'll carry a complex caseload that demands sharp clinical reasoning and confident decision-making.
Your day-to-day will include: Conducting functional and cognitive assessments to support safe and timely discharge planning Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team
medical, nursing, allied health and social work
to coordinate goal-directed care
Providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior OT staff and students Contributing to service improvement initiatives within the AMU and broader NALHN Allied Health structure What You'll Bring Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist Demonstrated experience in an acute hospital or acute medical setting Solid skills in functional assessment, cognitive screening and discharge planning Proven ability to manage a high-volume, time-sensitive caseload with clinical independence Experience providing supervision or support to less experienced clinicians Familiarity with SA Health clinical frameworks or comparable public health systems
To be eligible for this position, you must have an Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
