Remuneration Package

Valued up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Googong Public School is a purpose‑built future‑focused learning environment located on the lands of the Ngambri and Ngunnawal People, with 39 classrooms including 3 supported learning classes and catering for over 936 students. The school has state‑of‑the‑art technology resources, large landscaped outdoor learning and play spaces, a multipurpose court, multi‑function hall, air‑conditioned classrooms, special purpose rooms and a well‑resourced library.

Innovative, collaborative teaching and learning pedagogies are evident, driven by explicit systematic practices utilising the co‑teaching cycle of co‑planning, co‑teaching and co‑analysis.

Googong Public School has the largest growing EAL/D student body in the local network with approximately 24% of the students identifying as EAL/D.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Approval to teach English as an Additional Language/Dialect, or currently undertaking or enrolled in relevant NSW Department of Education approved qualifications, is required. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team to support the literacy and English language skills of EAL/D students, including new arrival students.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build positive relationships with the learning support team, classroom teachers and the wider school community.

Conditions

Unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you must commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher English as an additional language or dialect qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
