The Company is seeking a General Counsel and Company Secretary to play a pivotal role in the legal function.
The successful candidate will have a robust background in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on SaaS, employment law, data privacy, technology, and IP.
This role is at the forefront of the company's growth, particularly in its transition to an AI-native organization, and will involve designing new legal and company secretary workflows that incorporate AI.
The General Counsel and Company Secretary will also be responsible for managing a small legal team, overseeing external counsel, and acting as the Company Secretary to the Board, handling all aspects of governance and investor relations.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience, with a significant amount of in-house experience in a quick-growth environment.
A current Australian practicing certificate and a legal qualification are essential.
The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in using AI and automation to enhance legal processes, as well as advanced drafting and negotiation skills.
Experience in supporting corporate transactions, including fundraising, M&A;, and multi-jurisdictional employee equity plans, is also a must.
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen, the ability to balance risk with business outcomes, and experience in managing a legal team.
Knowledge of the healthcare sector and its regulatory workplace is a plus.
