Registered Nurse (RN) – IV Sedation & RecoveryWagga IV + Wagga Oral Surgery is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our new IV sedation service within our purpose-built procedure facility.Working alongside our Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, sedation practitioners and specialist clinical team, you will play an integral role in delivering protected, high-quality patient care throughout every stage of the patient's care.About the RoleThis is a casual position with sessions generally running between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.As we establish this new service, shifts will be offered according to patient demand and procedure lists.
While regular work is anticipated, the exact number of days cannot be guaranteed initially.
There is robust potential for additional shifts as the service becomes established.Hourly Rate: $60–$65 per hour (casual), depending on experience.ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients for IV sedation proceduresPerform pre-operative observations and assessmentsIV cannulation (desirable)Monitor patients throughout IV sedation proceduresProvide recovery care following IV sedationDeliver patient education and discharge instructionsMaintain clinical equipment and consumablesAssist with maintaining accreditation and clinical standardsEssential CriteriaCurrent AHPRA registration as a Registered NurseCurrent CPR (BLS) certificationMinimum two years' post-registration nursing experienceDemonstrated experience in patient monitoring and recovery following sedation, anaesthesia or acute care proceduresExcellent communication and patient care skillsAbility to work confidently within a small specialist teamHighly DesirableExperience in one or more of the following:Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) / RecoveryAnaestheticsEmergency DepartmentIntensive Care Unit (ICU) or High Dependency Unit (HDU)Day SurgeryThe successful applicant will be confident in patient monitoring, recognising clinical deterioration and supporting airway management during procedural sedation.What We OfferCasual employment with the opportunity for regular ongoing shifts as the service becomes establishedCompetitive hourly rateState-of-the-art purpose-built procedure facilitiesOpportunity to help establish an exciting new IV sedation service in regional NSWSupportive multidisciplinary team committed to exceptional patient careOngoing professional development in a specialist surgical workplace
