King Truss is a long-established, family-owned building supplies business based at Bells Creek, near Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. For more than 30 years, we have supplied quality frames and trusses to builders across Southeast and Central Queensland, with customers from Bundaberg to Ballina.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to bring discipline, clarity and commercial insight to how we run the business.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the General Manager and Directors, you will own the financial position of King Truss – reporting it accurately and on time, actively protecting cash, stock, margin and trade credit, and giving the owners clear, decision-ready advice.

Your work will include:

- Delivering accurate monthly management accounts and closing month-end on time
- Owning statutory and tax compliance
- Building the annual budget with department leaders and reforecasting through the year
- Managing cashflow, working capital, banking, inventory valuation and trade credit
- Producing decision-ready board reporting with forward-looking recommendations
- Leading a small accounts team and lifting financial literacy across the business
- Strengthening internal controls, managing financial risk and improving finance systems

About you

You are an experienced finance leader who understands that accurate,



timely numbers are what allow a business to make good decisions with confidence.

You will bring:

- CA or CPA membership and a degree in accounting
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar, with solid budgeting, forecasting and board-level reporting
- Sound knowledge of Australian tax and reporting obligations
- Real experience managing cash, working capital, stock and trade credit risk
- Strong ERP and advanced Excel, Power BI or similar skills
- The people skills to build relationships across the business – and the authority to hold peers accountable for their commitments
- Reliability, initiative and genuine ownership of your work

Experience in the timber, hardware or building supplies industry would be well regarded, but it is not essential for the right person. If you have strong financial control experience, the right values and a genuine commitment to quality work, King Truss will support your transition into the industry.
