Job Description

We are seeking a energetic and experienced individual to join our team as a VIT Registered Primary Islamic Studies Teacher/Primary College Imam.

Skills required

- A passion for teaching and student learning
- Excellent organisational and behavioural management skills
- Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with difficult situations.
- Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students
- Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
- Indicate their experience, qualifications, qualities and attributes expected from them.

The role of the teacher may include but is not limited to:

- Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
- Contributing to the development,



implementation and evaluation of curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
- Undertaking other classroom teaching and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
- Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions

The role of the College Imam includes:

- Leading and overseeing the delivery of daily prayers, Friday sermons, and other Islamic religious activities across the College.
- Training and mentoring staff and students in the leadership and management of prayers, sermons, and Islamic ceremonies.
- Developing and delivering engaging Islamic programs during and after school hours that foster Islamic knowledge, character, and leadership.
- Inspiring students to embody Islamic values, etiquette, and exemplary manners in accordance with the Sunnah and the teachings of the Qur'an.
- Providing Islamic guidance, counselling, and pastoral support to students on matters of faith and personal development.
- Encouraging students to strengthen their relationship with Allah through the practical application of Islamic teachings in their daily lives.
